Privacy Policy

Account data: your email address and the password hash created at sign-up (or the basic profile returned by Google if you sign in that way).

Library data: the files you upload, the text extracted from them, translations, AI-generated notes and narration audio, plus your reading position and preferences.

Billing data: your plan, subscription status and renewal dates. Card details are handled entirely by Stripe and never reach our servers.

Usage data: counts of characters translated, narrated and books added, used to enforce trial allowances and service usage, plus basic technical error logs. If you contact support, we process the contact details and message you choose to send.

We process account and library content to provide the service you request (contract); billing and tax records to meet legal obligations; security, service reliability and abuse-prevention data for our legitimate interests; and support messages to answer your request. Optional advertising conversion measurement is processed only after you opt in; you can withdraw that choice in the Advertising choice section below.

Supabase — database, authentication and file storage. Stripe Managed Payments — merchant of record, payment processing and transaction taxes for checkout purchases. ElevenLabs — text-to-speech generation. Our AI gateway and its model providers — translation, explanations and dossiers. Our managed email service — contact-form messages and support email. Google — optional advertising conversion measurement and ad personalization, only after you opt in. We send content to the relevant provider only when needed to perform the feature you request.

Provider processing, retention and international-transfer terms may vary by service and configuration. We do not use private library content to train our own models. Some providers may process data outside the UK/EEA; we use applicable transfer safeguards and can provide details about the safeguards relevant to a request.

Google processes advertising conversion measurements and may use related data to personalize advertising only if you opt in through the Advertising choice section below.

Your library is private. Database row-level security restricts every book, translation, audio clip and note to your account, and uploaded files sit in private storage reachable only through short-lived signed links issued to you.

Library content stays until you delete it or close your account. Closing an account removes active account records and files from the app's books, narration and figure storage. We retain billing records for the period required by applicable tax and accounting law. Service-provider backups and records we must retain may persist for their applicable retention periods.

Depending on where you live and the circumstances, you may ask for access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability, object to processing, and withdraw consent. You may also complain to your data protection authority. Contact us through the contact form at aethelaudio.app/contact. We respond within one month; where the law permits an extension for complex or multiple requests, we will explain it within that first month.

We use essential authentication storage, local preferences and your saved advertising consent choice. Google Ads conversion measurement and ad personalization are optional. The Google tag is loaded only after you consent to these uses. You can withdraw that choice at any time in the Advertising choice section below. We do not currently use a separate analytics product.
