Terms of Service

Aethel Audio lets you import documents and ebooks you already own, translate them, listen to AI-generated narration and ask an AI assistant about the text. Features may change or be withdrawn as the product develops.

You must be at least 18 years old and provide an accurate email address. You are responsible for keeping your password safe and for everything done through your account. If you suspect unauthorised use, contact us through the contact form at aethelaudio.app/contact promptly.

You keep all rights to the files you upload. You grant us only the permission needed to store, parse, translate and narrate them so the service works for you. You confirm you have the right to upload each file and that doing so does not infringe anyone's copyright. We do not use your files to train Aethel Audio's own AI models. Some content may be sent to an external provider when you request a feature that needs it, as explained in the Privacy Policy.

Do not upload material you have no right to use, attempt to bypass usage limits or payment, resell generated audio as your own product, reverse-engineer the service, or use it to produce unlawful, harassing or deceptive content. We may suspend accounts that break these rules.

Paid memberships start with a 7-day free trial with fair-use allowances. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, the plan you chose renews automatically at the advertised price each month or year until cancelled. The price, billing interval and applicable taxes or currency conversion are shown during checkout before you confirm payment. Stripe Managed Payments acts as merchant of record for checkout purchases; Aethel Audio operates the reading service. Stripe handles the payment and applicable transaction taxes. We do not receive your full card number. A one-off voice pack is a separate purchase and is not a subscription.

You can cancel at any time from Plan & billing by choosing Manage subscription. The billing portal shows the effective cancellation date before you confirm. Any paid access continues until that date. If you cancel during a free trial, no subscription charge is taken. Mandatory consumer cancellation and conformity rights still apply. Translations, explanations, dossiers and narration are generated automatically and can be wrong or incomplete. They are not financial, legal, tax or investment advice. Verify anything you rely on.

We aim for a reliable service but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

We may update these terms; material changes will be announced by email or in the app. The agreement is governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, without affecting mandatory consumer protections in your own country.
