Billing questions
How does the free trial work?
Every paid plan starts with 7 days free. Nothing is charged until the trial ends, and you can cancel before then in one click from Plan & billing. Without a paid plan, a free account keeps five books and an hour of standard narration.
How is narration time counted?
By the length of the text spoken, at roughly 950 characters a minute. Narration is saved, so replaying a passage you have already heard is free and never counted twice. Reading and translation don't use narration time.
What happens if I run out of hours?
Narration pauses and you can add a one-off pack of 5 hours for $12.99, or move to a larger plan. Bought hours never expire.
Why do ElevenLabs voices cost more?
Generating an hour of narration with ElevenLabs voices costs several times more than with standard studio voices. Rather than raise every plan, the premium voices start with Pro. Everything else, including how equations, figures and tables are handled, is the same on every plan.
Is there a student discount?
When a student offer is running, it is applied automatically at checkout if you signed up with a university email address. If your university's domain isn't recognised, contact us.
Can I switch or cancel later?
Yes. Change plan or cancel at any time from Plan & billing. Paid access continues until the end of the period you paid for. See the refund policy for details.
